Verdict

With scope to improve PLUME can score on his second handicap run with Night Affair looking the main threat and Excellerator can be considered after a nice first run back. After winning on just his second start the selection returned this season with a place in a strong looking Newbury handicap. He should come on for the run through both fitness and experience so with just 2lbs added to his mark he should go in off bottom weight. Nigh Affair is also near the bottom of the handicap and won well on his seasonal bow. He handles this track and over his optimum trip should go close now just 3lbs heavier. Excellerator wasn't beaten far in a listed contest on his last run but might be a little high in the weights now introduced to these ranks. Belle Des Airs wasn't beaten far from a pound higher when at this venue two starts ago so is likely to be a leading player but in a tough old finale Plume looks progressive and can improve to score.
