Verdict

BENNELONG is taken to win this after a very promising debut at Newbury; Piazza San Pietro is the obvious danger to Ralph Beckett's juvenile. Having raced prominently for most of the journey on debut, two more experienced rivals quickened past him but the front three did draw quite clear of the remainder. Invincible Heart set a fair standard in that maiden and gives the maiden a good look. Piazza San Pietro was last seen in the Goffs Million at the Curragh where he never threatened to land a blow. He was the subject of strong support on his third start in maiden where both the second and third have since scored. This represents a drop in class but it remains to be seen whether he will be suited by the drop back to six furlongs. Retro and Yellow Printer could be those to fill the minor honours but Bennelong is given the nod.
