      Verdict

      There is nothing between these on the official figures and the competitive nature of the card is upheld by the strength of the field drawn together for this Group 3 prize. However, Kaieteur is a genuine contender at this level and the four-year-old is marginally preferred over the progressive Leporello and Celebration Mile winner Priors Lodge. The Brian Meehan-trained selection ran a cracker in dead-heating for third behind Sulamani in the Arlington Million last month and his proven stamina for this trip could be the decisive edge today. The only worry would be that he had a hard race on that occasion but he was still in there with a shout when he was hampered close home. The Meehan team have been in excellent form of late and if his tram Atlantic experiences have not taken their toll, he will be the one to beat. Leporello is undoubtedly an improving sort and will make this a tough test. But the less exposed Muqbil, who won the Greenham in impressive fashion in April, is taken to improve for the step up in trip and give Kaieteur the most to do.
