In depth

Verdict

In the opener, Aaim For Applause is selected ahead of Berbice and Poppy Dean. Aaim For Applause was very green but ended up finishing a creditable second at Bath on his debut and he is very much one to consider today. Berbice has shown plenty of promise in two starts, including here and is one to consider also, while stable companion Irish Artist cost 60,000 euros and the market might guide as to his chance. Kristal Glory was behind Berbice on his course and distance debut but is sure to improve on that, while Lisselan Prospect at least improved from run one to two on his latest start, which came over course and distance, and Poppy Dean's Windsor debut was not without promise and today's extra furlong will probably help his cause. Our selection, once again, though, is Aim For Applause.
