Verdict

BADEEL is still in the Derby but will need to win this impressively to justify an entry. Jamie Spencer was on board when he made all for a comfortable victory in a Nottingham handicap recently and Frankie Dettori is likely to set a strong gallop that may prove too much for these rivals. Auld Burns reappeared with a victory in the hugely lucrative Tattersalls Millions at Newmarket before a fair effort in Sandown's Classic Trial behind Godolphin's Genius Beast, who was beaten at Longchamp on Sunday. Masked Marvel finished well beaten at Sandown though he probably needed the run and can do better while Namibian, just over two lengths behind Auld Burns in that big Sales race at HQ, was disappointing subsequently in a Listed race on the same track. Picture Editor had little chance behind Frankel in the Greenham and this is much more likely to be the right trip as his dam was a useful winner over 1m4f.
