Verdict
A chance is taken that Camberley can bounce back to form while Pomfret Lad, Highland Shot and Winning Venture rate as the likeliest alternatives. Paul Cole's charge made a winning return over this course and distance in June and was then far from disgraced in defeat on his next two starts at Royal Ascot and at Newcastle. The six-year-old was well below his best in a Ladies race on King George day at Ascot when last seen out but remains on a fair mark and should give a good account with Kieren Fallon booked. Pomfret Lad took advantage of a lenient mark when making all to score easily at Newbury last week but had the run of the race on that occasion and is now 6lb higher. Highland Shot has shown progressive form this season, winning on three occasions, but has paid the price and is now 10lb higher than her latest success while Winning Venture has strong claims on his fourth in the valuable William Hill handicap at the Glorious meeting but is hard to win with and remains on a long losing sequence.
