In depth

Verdict

The selection in an interesting maiden is Golden Acer, with his biggest dangers reckoned to be Carmenero and Art Historian, although there are some interesting newcomers. Golden Acer's debut run at Newbury looked a decent effort and is the one that sets the benchmark for the form today. It will be interesting to see how Carmenero's debut run works out, and the horse that beat him there, Sir Xaar, ran on Friday. Art Historian should improve for his York debut, and Right Again showed distinct promise when fifth to Marcus Andronicus at York on his first run. The likes of Don't Dili Dali, Sellasia and Silver Blue are among those with interesting breeding and, as ever, the betting should be noted. However, for the winner we return to Golden Acer.
