A strong case can be made for any number of these but INVINCIBLE SOUL can be considered unlucky to have just a solitary win to his name at this stage. Therefore, the Richard Hannon-trained colt represents good value as one to be with this time around. Capponi, London Stripe and Ransom Note are others likely to be prominent in the betting - each being worthy of consideration for a least a place in the frame. Whereas Cultivar and Beachfire are improving at a rate of knots and deserve to take their chance at this level. The last named tends to need a little time to warm to the task so, he will need luck on his side to weave his way through in the better grade of contest. Cultivar justified favouritism in gutsy style at Chester earlier in the month - bouncing back from a rare blip in the Yorkshire Stakes in his previous outing. This is by far his sternest challenge to date, though. And the mount of Jimmy Quinn will really need to pull out all the stops today. Even so Ransom Note, the winner of the Britannia Stakes at Ascot last month, appeals as the best hope from Barry Hills's yard. The son of Red Ransom is versatile regarding the ground and he will be a big threat if Michael Hills can keep him out of trouble. London Stripe drops in trip after being narrowly outgunned by the progressive Dandino at Royal Ascot last month - the son of Rock Of Gibraltar lost no caste in defeat; as he comfortably took the measure of the remainder of the field. As a lightly raced individual he may have more to offer and should not be dismissed lightly. The same comments apply to Capponi, whose game performances have catapulted him ahead of Abergavenny and Solicitor as Mark Johnston's main contender. Having shown his willingness for a battle at York 19 days ago, he is going to be a formidable opponent if his recent exertions haven't taken too much of a toll. However, Invincible Soul has also held his own in good company of late and, given that he can be relied upon to give his all when it matters; this fellow is well worth another chance to gain the upper hand.
