        Verdict

        MAYBE I WONT looks a stand out selection here, but Markhesa and Lunar River could give him something to think about. The way Lucinda Featherstone's gelding ran when runner up last time out over nine furlongs suggests the slight step up in trip is a positive . It's more than a year since he was in the winners' enclosure, but although this may be a competitive contest it's low on quality and he's got the recent form in the locker. Lunar River's sole win on turf came nearly four years ago, and he's more used to going on the all-weather surfaces, although without a great deal of success, but the fact we're shortlisting him tells you about the quality of the field. He's got a decent draw though. Markhesa's yet to live up to expectations since being bought after winning a seller last year, with a couple of subsequent placings. It's not a race to go lumping on in, but marginal preference is for Maybe I Wont.
