Verdict

Hotline Bling arrives from Sweden where he's won his last three over this trip. German challenger Rocchigiani is a more likely winner having performed with credit in the Jersey Stakes while Berkshire Shadow, who had run well behind Coroebus at Newmarket and Royal Ascot, appeared to find fast ground against him when dropped into Listed class back at HQ. He finished just in front of BAYSIDE BOY in the St James's Palace Stakes but the latter didn't get the run of the race and gets another chance to return to his excellent juvenile form. The lightly-raced Checkandchallenge ran a tremendous race against older horses in a very tough Sandown handicap after being thought good enough to run in the Two Thousand Guineas.
