        Verdict

        Last years winner Hugs Dancer will have his work cut out to follow up off a 14lb higher mark, but he comes here in good form and cannot be left out of calculations. Ranville, progressive on a soft surface last year, has struggled this term on a faster surface and will not have conditions to suit here. Greenhope, unlucky in running in the Ascot Stakes, is 3lb better off with Mana D'Argent and is sure to make a bold bid, but Mark Johnston's tough gelding is taken to confirm the form. He is 5lb high than when beating a useful field at Ascot last time, with Hugs Dancer behind him and he is taken to finish ahead of his rival, even on these revised terms.
