    Verdict

Bourbonnais has more to do than when successful in a York maiden, but this half-brother to Sloe Gin is expected to improve over this trip. The unbeaten Dublin, left his debut running well behind when fitted with a visor at Newbury. He left the well regarded Mark Of Zorro trailing in his wake and if he can reproduce that, he is sure to be involved in the finish. Stablemate Silver Seeker is the selection of Dettori and this grey colt, who was in desperate need of his initial outing, showed he is going the right way, when disposing of a moderate field at Newbury. He will have to improve again on that to take a hand in this, but is respected. Irish raider Newfoundland has only raced on a soft surface to date and it remains to be seen whether he is as effective on this faster ground. The unbeaten Norse Dancer has more on his plate here, as has Hilbre Island, but Tizzy May, an unlucky 5th in the July Stakes, sets the standard. From the same family as the high class sprinter Bahamian Bounty, he looks worth a try at this trip and if he stays, will be the one to beat.
