    Verdict

Samurai Way can outstay his rivals here, with Swan Queen, Castle Howard, Tilt and Night Hour all to be respected. There are certainly plenty in with a shout here, and even topweight Scriptwriter and the reappearing Strategic Mount would not be out of it on their best form, but we shall take a chance with Samurai Way. Luca Cumani's five-year-old opened his account at Thirsk in May, and was then just touched off by John Terry at Newmarket. He needs to raise his game a shade to score, but on breeding should relish the step up in trip. Swan Queen tried to make all here last time, but that was not as competitive as this, while Castle Howard won well enough at Windsor last time and is another that will need to be on top of his game. Tilt was fancied last time but let his supporters down, Night Hour is more lightly-raced than most, and the jury is out on Nosferatu after his flop in the Plate. All in all, this is a tricky contest, but a small vote goes to Samurai Way.
