Verdict

Aridity made a good impression behind Johannes Vermeer at Killarney and the winner went on to land a Group 3 on his next start. Mittersill made his debut at Dundalk where he caught the eye with a very encouraging run, despite looking green, while Newsman was staying on well over 7f on soft going at Roscommon. Precious Gold showed much-improved form when beaten just a short-head at the Curragh though that was his fourth start and Sea Of Mystery, who wasn't far behind, may improve enough to turn the tables. Dermot Weld won this last year so his Sea The Stars colt HARZAND, whose dam has produced winners with her first four foals to race, is taken to make a successful start though Black Sea also has a wonderful pedigree and the Racing Post Trophy entry could be anything.
