In depth

Make A Track is invariably at his best at this time of the year and will be better for last week's run over hurdles. Mallowney's best run of the year came at Fairyhouse in April where he wasn't far behind Road To Riches off level weights, form that would give him an obvious chance here. Moscow Mannon ended his novice campaign with a close second in Grade 1 company at Punchestown. He looked even better when easily accounting for Felix Yonger in a Naas Grade 3 on his reappearance and will be difficult to beat. However, BALLYCASEY would have won a Grade 1 at Fairyhouse in April over this trip but for falling two out then just ran out of steam over a longer trip in the Champion Novice Chase so looks the one to be on.

Ballycasey (IRE) 3-1 (11-10) Tracked leaders in 3rd, improved travelling well to lead 2 out, soon ridden, strongly pressed at last, headed inside final furlong, kept on same pace run-in, 2nd of 5, 4 1/2l behind Carlingford Lough (11-10) at Punchestown 3m 1f nov chs G1 (1) gd in Apr.

Mallowney (IRE) 3-1 (11-10) Soon raced in 5th, slightly slow 3rd, improved to be prominent 5th, led before 6th, pressed and slight mistake 2 out, headed before last, no impression when switched left close home, kept on, 2nd of 8, 2l behind Art Of Logistics (11-4) at Punchestown 2m hcp chs gd in May.

Moscow Mannon (IRE) 4-7fav (11-1) Tracked leader in 2nd, travelled well to narrowly lead 2 out, not fluent at last, driven to assert, kept on strongly, won at Naas 2m chs Grade 3 (1) beating Felix Yonger (11-10) by 5l, 4 ran.

Churchfield Champ (IRE) 25-1 (10-12) In rear, never a factor, no extra after 3 out, weakened, tailed off, 7th of 8, well behind Smiler (10-12) at Galway 2m hcp hdl gd in Oct.

Followmeuptocarlow (IRE) 4-1 (10-9) In rear, moderate 10th halfway, progress to mid-division 3 out, improved to 4th 2 out, ridden into 2nd at last, kept on one pace, 3rd of 11, 5l behind Give Me A Break (10-8) at Naas 2m 4f hcap hdle Grd C.
