Verdict

CLONDAW WARRIOR had the pace to win the Galway Hurdle over the minimum trip and stepped up to three miles to finish runner-up to Vroum Vroum Mag in the Grade 1 Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown where he had Snow Falcon a couple of lengths behind in third, De Plotting Shed struggling in sixth and Milsean well beaten. However, the selection's stable companion Shaneshill had just been headed by the winner when falling at the last though he looked a tired horse after attempting to make all. Dedigout beat Monksland a short-head to win this a year ago and has been racing over shorter trips so it would be no surprise to see him make a bold bid to complete the double.
