        Verdict

        A moderate event to get proceedings underway and Kenmore is preferred to Dottys Daughter and Spiritual Peace. The selection was rated in the 90's at this time last season and while one accepts that his form has deteriorated from those halcyon days, he does handle give in the ground and could be worth chancing on this steep drop in grade. Dottys Daughter has no secrets these days but tries hard in spite of a lack of natural ability. She ran better than her finishing position suggested at Redcar and does at least appear in form. Spiritual Peace looks sour these days and squandered a far easier opportunity last time out. He looks one to be wary of these days. Michael Jarvis cast-off Lake Chini has to be respected at this grade if bouncing back from a poor run over course-and-distance. Seeswamilu is unproven on the surface and is avoided. Signor Whippee has popped up occasionally and does have the virtue of being from an in-form yard. The market could offer most clues and Kenmore is given a chance to shine against lesser opposition.
