Muncaster Castle showed enough over course and distance last time on a softer surface, but has form on fast ground as well, to suggest that he may be good enough to take this moderate contest and he gets the vote ahead of Lady Valentino and Fistral. The last mentioned has shown promise but remains a maiden after 10 starts so may be booked for a place at best. Richard Fahey's Miss Percy has also yet to win a race, a run that may continue here, while Lan Kwai Fong has shown only a modicum of ability in three starts so far. Pegasus Prince has been well held in all five starts and of more interest may be Mark Brisbourne's Beck, especially now that the yard is among the winners. This is not the best of races but Muncaster Castle has solid claims and he is marginally preferred.
