Verdict

Eutropius was in excellent form around this time a year ago and returned to his best at Redcar last week with a comfortable victory in a handicap of this class. He has a 6lb penalty to contend with but that's unlikely to prevent another big effort. Archie's Advice had won twice on Polytrack in the autumn and returned to Turf with a victory over a mile here last month where his sustained run got him in front close home. He's even better over this trip so is another with chances despite a big weight. FIRST SITTING has been acquired from Dermot Weld for who he showed promise in maidens last season. He's a full brother to the Group 1 Matron Stakes winner Emulous and made a highly satisfactory debut for David O'Meara at Thirsk last month so looks the one to be on. Sakhalin Star likes soft ground and this track but a strike-rate of 1-27 doesn't inspire confidence so another Irish import, Bogardus, could prove more of a threat as he found 1m4f much too far on his reappearance and scored over this trip at Gowran in September.
