In depth

Verdict

Confidential Lady is taken to make a winning debut, with Original Source and Sweet Lime two others worth noting. Sir Mark Prescott has taken time to get going this season, but he is sure to get into top gear soon, and Confidential Lady, a filly by Singspiel, has by all accounts been working well enough at home to go in first time. She has a host of entries over the next few days, and the fact that she runs here is a pointer as her trainer loves sending them up from Newmarket. It is not just for the Scottish air though, and she should make a bold bid. Howard Johnson is sure to want to win this again as he was successful last year with Abraxas Antelope, so the chance of Original Source has to be respected. On breeding though, he will come into his own over further and is passed over today. Bryan Smart is pleased with his current batch of two-year-olds, and any market moves for Sweet Lime, another Danehill Dancer colt, would be interesting. Mark Johnston's runner Think Lucky could be anything, but the Middleham juveniles tend to come on for the run, and preference is for Confidential Lady who can make the most of her sex allowance.
