Verdict
Mumbling has struggled since landing three races in May 2001. He is gradually coming down in the handicap and is not far off his highest winning mark. Sikasso looks the one to beat after chasing home Bollin Thomas at Haydock last time. This slightly shorter trip will not bother him, neither will the underfoot conditions. Inch Perfect hasn't won for two years, but he is certainly well handicapped nowadays and is capable of a bold showing on this, his favoured ground. The three-year-old Toni Alcala is interesting getting plenty of weight. He proved he handled soft ground, when a close second at Newcastle as a juvenile and in receipt of a stone and a half off the selection, he looks sure to go close.
