      Verdict

      Soul Seeker set a furious pace at Pontefract on Monday before weakening quickly and has now been beaten four times off this mark recently. Refuge, who won three times here last summer and again last month, was on his highest-ever mark when third on a return visit a fortnight ago. Newyorkstateofmind is 1-34 on Turf though very nearly doubled his winning tally at Thirsk last week but Mews House ran poorly on fast ground at Carlisle after winning here earlier. YAAHOBBY has only won on the all-weather but looked to be running into form at Wetherby so gets the nod as Bonito Cavalo was engaged in the 8.10 at Ayr last night.
