Verdict
Some familiar names line up for this claimer including the David Nicholls-trained pair Atlantic Viking and Rudi's Pet plus former inmate Further Outlook but preference is for Raccoon. The selection drops into this grade for the first time having been running consistently well in handicaps of late but having not had a great deal of luck on occasions, particularly with the draw. David Barron's gelding has an obvious chance at the weights and on current form he looks the one they all have to beat. Ian Semple's runners in this grade are always worth a second look and Viewforth is no exception but the eight-year-old would need to step up on recent form to trouble the judge. Atlantic Viking and Rudi's Pet are both of interest at the weights and given the yard's general good form, although of more interest may be their former stable companion Further Outlook. Declan Carroll has done well with horses claimed out of other yards and it would come as no surprise to see him get improved form from the 12-year-old but Raccoon has an obvious chance and he gets the vote.
