Verdict
Obe Bold has done everything asked of him of late, winning his last two starts, but Alan Berry's gelding has gone up in the weights as a result and this looks tougher now so preference is for Yorkshire Blue, who gets the vote ahead of Titinius. The last mentioned has run with credit in each start this term and is entitled to be thereabouts again but Micky Hammond's gelding could probably do with some help from the handicapper so is probably best watched. Howards Princess should do better on this faster surface than on his reappearance but faces no easy task giving weight away all round, while stablemate Local Poet has yet to reproduce his all-weather form since returned to turf. Old campaigner Ellens Academy has slipped to a fair mark but has given little sign of encouragement of late and preference is for Jim Goldie's Yorkshire Blue, who showed signs of a revival under similar conditions over course and distance last time and remains feasibly well treated.
