In depth

Verdict

Flag Lieutenant let his supporters down on the all-weather last time, but he is expected to make amends this afternoon, Polish Eagle and Investment Wings look the pick of the opposition. Sir Michael Stoute's colt was backed down to favourite in that competitive maiden, won by the impressive Tragedian. He got the hang of things late on and was beaten just over two lengths at the line. He will have learned a lot from that experience and this well bred son of Machiavellian looks the one to beat. Mark Johnston runs both Investment Wings and You Too, the former , a son of In The Wings is making his debut but looks the pick of the pair on jockey bookings. The main threat however may come from Polish Eagle who ran very green when third to King's Kama at Wolverhampton recently. we can expect a much improved performance today. The rest make very little appeal and so in what is effectively a four horse race Flag Lieutenant is expected to come out on top.
