    Verdict

    Chant followed his victory on fast ground at Pontefract with a disappointing run in a Catterick claimer where he probably found the track too sharp. El Beau has been running poorly and may need a further drop in the ratings while Henpecked is now on her highest ever mark after scoring here then almost following up at Ayr. Eez Eh is making steady progress and the assessor has dropped her 1lb for finishing runner-up at Carlisle but this can go to CALLIOPE. She had only shown the occasional glimpse of form before gaining a comfortable victory when stepped up to 1m4f at Thirsk and, though raised 7lb, is still reasonably treated.
