          Verdict

          A difficult 18-runner handicap, in which there are plenty with chances, to open proceedings at Haydock Park, Among those with claims are topweight Devolution and the Alan Swinbank-trained Queens Musician, although both have an absence from the racecourse to overcome. The booking of Jamie Spencer for Mark Polglase's illegal takes the eye, while Cryfield should again be thereabouts but tends to find at least one too good.
