Verdict

An open handicap in which all are respected. BAPTIST showed his first sign of form since winning on his juvenile debut when third behind Albaasil at the Newmarket July meeting and is given the chance to confirm that improvement off the same mark. He had Roman Eagle and Seattle Drive behind that day and can confirm form but the former should not be discounted as that was his seasonal reappearance and there should be more to come. Midsummer Fair and Maraheb look relatively harshly treated and Early Applause looks more interesting back from a break and with his yard in blistering form. Ingleby Exceed cannot be ruled out from the bottom rung as she looks a typical David O'Meara improver and scored with authority at York last time.
