In depth

Verdict

Plenty of in-form three-year-old's here and narrow preference is for Captain Webb ahead of Allied Powers and Tighnabruaich. The selection drops in trip today having run well for a long way over two miles in the Queen's Vase. He had previously been a good Listed winner at Hamilton and should be more at home in this easier company. Allied Powers must be respected; this is his first sojourn out of handicap company but he is very progressive and it would be unwise to underestimate him. Daraahem didn't show last time in a valuable handicap but his previous form looks solid, whilst Tighnabruaich is consistent enough and whilst this track will suit more today than Chester last time, he has plenty of ground to make up with Allied Powers on that run. Laterly and Full Speed have claims, with the latter having already come out on top when they met at Redcar. Inventor and Planetarium are two more for consideration however Captain Webb can return to winning ways.
