In depth

Verdict

The booking of Francesca Cumani for Faraday stands out and they are selected although support for Uhuru Peak should be taken seriously. The selection is no superstar but he's certainly better than he showed at Brighton last time and is worth another chance back on a more conventional track. He usually makes the running and may just be able to slip the field if they get the fractions right. The Easterby team won this race last year and are in fair form at present. Uhuru Peak lacks a run and has never won over this trip but all three wins have come for this pilot and he's weighted to win. That remark also applies to Kingsholm but he seems to be increasingly difficult to win with but Centenary looks well handicapped and his shrewd connections have acquired the services of a leading jockey. Keep an eye on the market as the yard are rarely wide of the mark when the money is down. Ardent Prince and Jiminor Mack are others worthy of mention but we'll take Faraday to light up the opener.
