Verdict
The Fairy Flag absolutely bolted up at Chester seven days ago and can win again under a penalty. Alan Bailey's charge has the added attraction of being a course winner. The main dangers seem to be King Revo, who ran well last time after meeting trouble in running; Kelpie, who holds a good chance based on her Ascot second last time, although her three wins to date have come on the all-weather; and the consistent Rotuma, even though he doesn't win that often. Of the others, Giunchiglio is a fairly lightly-raced maiden whose best form is at this trip; Making Waves was formerly with John Gosden but has clearly had problems; Cote Soleil, who is back on a winning mark although that was at a shorter trip; Red Forest, although he seems handicapped at just about the right mark; and Great View, who won from a mark of 48 at Newbury in August, and now races off 52. Paradise Garden sports a visor for the first time. With the adage of following a filly - or in this case a mare - in form in mind, The Fairy Flag gets a narrow call.
