In depth
Verdict
Gudlage has had his problems and is an infrequent winner but has held his form well of late having landed a similar event for today's rider at Pontefract (now 5lb higher) last month. The son of Gulch looked unlucky on his latest start when a slipped saddle curtailed his chance and will prove hard to beat on his bid for compensation. There is little between Summer Cherry and Major Attraction on recent Chester form but both may find this an inadequate test of stamina while Rainstorm needs to step up on recent efforts to prevail at this level.
