In depth

Verdict

Eternal Legacy was impressive when slamming her field in a Newcastle maiden last week and can claim her first handicap here, with Observatory Star, Caustic Wit and Brigadore others to consider. The selection proved she handles bottomless ground at Gosforth Park and despite that not being the strongest of maidens she could not have been more impressive in winning by six lengths over this same trip. With confidence now high she can follow up. Observatory Star will be popular and also handles cut. Tim Easterby's gelding was just held at Catterick last time on his seasonal debut and if he strips fitter then he will be a serious threat. Caustic Wit has won of soft if you look far enough back in his form, but has a clear preference for faster ground and we'll give him a swerve, while Brigadore is consistent but keeps finding a couple too good and needs a drop in the weights. But Eternal LEgacy was impressive last week and can back that up here.
