In depth

Verdict

In the finale, Seeking The Buck is selected ahead of Hurlingham and Honorable Love. Honorable Love may be quirky but she certainly has ability too based on her 11-furlong win here last time. Grand Art comes here seeking a hat-trick of wins but a six-pounds rise in the ratings and a step up in trip need to be overcome. Lord Theo has already been held from his current rating, although he does step up in trip today, while El Toreador returns to Turf for the first time since his Saisbury maiden win but, overall, has something to prove, we feel. Seeking The Buck is consistent and maybe can be rated as better than his Newbury second last time as he committed for home quite early. Gold Prospect is another that is open to improvement at today's trip, while Hurlingham can be fancied on his all-weather form and was rather pitched in deep on Turf last time. Finally, Five A Side looked to be coming to hand last time when second to the well-handicapped Ahlawy and he has to be given some thought today. For the selection, though, we will stick with Seeking The Buck.
