In depth
Verdict
The Tom Tate pair Belshazzar and Mission affirmed are both set to go close here, but we will take a chance on Silverhay. David Barron is also double handed and Silverhay looks to hold better claims that Despol Veleta. The Inchinor gelding was beaten five lengths in a Hamilton maiden last time, but had previously acquitted himself well in two handicaps. He is still on a very decent mark and should go close under the champion jockey. Belshazzar has shown promise in three reasonable maidens and has scope for improvement on his first handicap outing. Mission Affirmed ran no sort of race when a well backed favourite last time, but if returning to the form he showed when out-pointing Quiet Reading in a competitive event at Southwell, he should take a hand in the finish here. It is not a race that will take too much winning and Silverhay is certainly one that deserves a victory.
