ALFA MCGUIRE was only headed close home by the race-fit Mont Kinabalu at Beverely. The top weight is only a pound better off but should reverse the form and can go one better here. Breath Caught made a winning reappearance stepping up to this trip at Newmarket but will need to improve again to defy a 5lb higher mark and complete the hat-trick. Jazeel ran better than his final placing suggests over 1m2f at Newmarket while Kraka could be interesting as he is open to improvement now going handicapping but Global Conqueror was a disappointing favourite at Nottingham considering he’d looked progressive in the autumn.
