In depth
Verdict
Monjeni was thwarted in his hat-trick bid at Hamilton last Sunday but wasn’t disgraced and can race off his correct mark in this. Lexington Law is still a maiden but was only beaten half-a-length over 1m4f at Wolverhampton in March. Opposition won at Doncaster and Newmarket around this time last year but an absence since July is a worry. JAAMEH ran in the Melrose at York last August and led into the straight. This is a lot less competitive and Mark Johnston’s gelding is probably the one to beat on his close-up fourth in another hot handicap at Goodwood last summer. Zenafire likes it here and has been thereabouts over hurdles lately so can’t be ignored.
