      Verdict

      Deputy is very interesting racing on Turf for the first time since a second at Thirsk last June. He’s been gelded and sports headgear for the first time on his handicap debut but we just prefer HOODWINKER (NAP). After seconds at Doncaster and Fontainebleau in November, William Haggas’ filly had to be ridden out to land the odds at Wolverhampton but that form has been franked and she’s probably strengthened up over the winter. Ford Madox Brown was keeping on when third on his Turf debut on soft going at Thirsk but Arctic Emperor needs more after a couple of seconds at Southwell. Doctor Churchill winning run came to an end at Wolverhampton and he’s never raced on Turf.
