Verdict
Wink Of An Eye found only one too good on his handicap debut over this trip at Goodwood but he’s already twice run poorly on going similar to today’s. Downsman was second over 1m4f on soft ground at Salisbury, however, and The Bravest has been gelded and had wind surgery since second over 1m at Pontefract in October. FAE THE PORT was only beaten half-a-length over a slightly shorter trip at Musselburgh and may be capable of going one better even though the winner of that race disappointed next time. Ripon runner-up Dr T J Eckleburg and the unexposed Poet's King warrant a second look if the market speaks in their favour.
