A competitive race in prospect and the challenge of INNOCUOUS can prove to be anything but that. The three-year-old colt relishes soft ground, having won comfortably when that was the description at Ffos Las in July. His follow-up attempt at Goodwood was better than it reads on paper, having had to race wide and he can show that it was just a blip by winning here. Leviathan is very much a danger, as he acts with cut and may be able to improve for this step up in trip. Ingleby Spirit's sole win came here on soft ground and he went close at Newmarket last time so he is entitled to be thereabouts, while another for the shortlist is mudlark Captain Dancer, who remains on a competitive mark.
