    Verdict

A miserable turnout with many by-passing this event after the Boxing Day period. Reflex Courier is confidently selected to land the spoils. John Upson's team are in great form at the moment and this recent course-and-distance winner (Cassia Heights second) looks difficult to oppose off ten stone. The trainer should have a line of form on Raffles Rooster through Echo's of Dawn. Tonoco steps up in trip but has winning form over two miles on a softer surface.
