In depth

Verdict

MASTER THE STARS was beaten a short-head at Newmarket but was awarded the race by the stewards and this extra distance may bring further progress. Labeebb struggled in better company at York last time while Mark Of Gold ran poorly at the same fixture on the Knavesmire having landed a double on soft going last year. Midrarr is fitted with a tongue-tie after another below par effort while both Doubling Dice and Quickthorn make their seasonal reappearances.
