Verdict

A typical sprint handicap where the riddle to solve is who's turn it will be today, and the honour may well go to Commando Scott. The selection is very effective with cut in the ground over both six and seven furlongs, and has already won here over course and distance. The likely good pace on here should set things up nicely for his running-on style, and although he has never won off this mark before he is in good form and is running against an equally exposed bunch, so he is given the nod. River Falcon has done most of his winning over the minimum trip but he does possess a touch of class and handles cut, so although he is plenty high enough in the weights we expect him to go well. Caribbean Coral has similar credntials to River Falcon, and although he has won off higher marks than this before, his recent level of form suggests that he is weighted up to his ability right now. Capricorn Run is in good nick but would prefer drier ground, while Turnkey has proved hard to win with since scoring at Pontefract in the summer, and Commando Scott gets the vote.
