In depth

Verdict

Attorney General was easily the pick of these over hurdles but Jim Old's gelding lost his way over timber, is not exactly bred or built for chasing and he looks worth taking on with a chance taken on Hennessy, who is marginally preferred to Over The Creek. The last mentioned is more than capable of taking the honours in this contest and has shown respectable form in both starts over fences this term. David Pipe's runners are struggling to show their best form at present though and he looks worth taking on. Peter Bowen, by comparison has his string in good form, but his runner here Contact Dancer has failed to complete in his last two starts and may be best watched at present. Given the form of runners from the yards of Venetia Williams and Ferdy Murphy, their respective runners Ma Yahab and Shouldhavehadthat have to be respected but preference is for Hennessy. Carl Llewellyn's gelding is less exposed than most of these, has already shown a liking for fences and is taken to resume winning ways.
