Verdict
Lou du Moulin Mas has the potential to improve at the age of five, and gets the nod over Old Marsh, Idiome and Majestic Moonbeam. Lou du Moulin Mas, despite his young age, displayed promise when second over fences at Auteuil on his last outing in June. He will improve as the season goes on, and could make up into yet another top novice chaser in a stable full of nice sorts. In receipt of weight from his older rivals, he can pay to follow straight away, with Old Marsh expected to give him most to do. The Venetia Williams-trained challenger made Sir Talbot pull out all the stops at Leicester, and a reproduction of that would see him go very close indeed. However, he would prefer faster ground and for that reason is opposed. Idiome turned in a decent effort here when second to Tanikos on his first outing in two years and can only improve, while Warwick bumper winner Majestic Moonbeam is put straight over fences after one uninspiring effort over hurdles at Folkestone in December. We will take a chance that Lou du Moulin Mas is fit enough for his British introduction and make him the pick to score before going on to better things.
