Verdict
Roaringwater gets the vote over Megapac, with Supreme Missile and Underwriter worth a mention. Roaringwater bids to atone after finishing a beaten favourite when third at Newcastle last month. The former Irish point-to-point winner looked one to follow when bolting up on his debut at Hexham in November, ploughing through the heavy ground with ease. Pulled up lame at Taunton on his next start over three miles and one furlong in February, he then found the trip too short at Newcastle, and will benefit from today's longer distance. He will be that bit fitter as well and should go close. Megapac was not as impressive when also making a winning bow in bumper company, at Plumpton last May, but will pay to follow when sent over fences. Supreme Missile appears to already be crying out for a trip and he too should fare better over this distance, while the ex-John Gosden inmate Underwriter shaped well enough at Nottingham on his first start for Ferdy Murphy and will be found a suitable opening in time. The well-bred Roaringwater, by Roselier out of a Buckskin mare, has a bright future though, and is the pick here.
