In depth
Verdict
A chance is taken with Trickstep, who is still open to improvement over hurdles and is selected ahead of Garbor, who is respected but need to prove his fitness after 253 days away from the action. Rumbling Bridge is also dangerous to rule out, as he is still learning his trade and there may be more to come from him. Watch the market where he is concerned. Garbor shaped up well last term and has the edge over a few of these in terms of experience. However, there has to be the suspicion that he will just need the run today and he may be best watched. Therefore, we prefer to go with Trickstep, who got his season off to a flyer at Ludlow in May. The very firm ground may have been his undoing when he attempted a follow up at Sedgefield a fortnight later and that run is best forgotten. The easier conditions will be very much to his liking and Trickstep is fancied to bounce back here.
