In depth

Verdict

Appach looks the pick in this modest event, Mon Mome and Avas Delight look to be the main rivals. The selection was successful in a similar race to this at Worcester back in June, comfortably beating Phase Three by seven lengths. He jumped superbly throughout and looks a horse on the upgrade. Avas Delight, rated 101 over hurdles, is making his chasing debut and will no doubt have been well schooled by his adept handler. Any market move for this one should be heeded. Mon Mome disappointed at the end of the last campaign but had previously shown plenty of ability to earn a hurdles rating of 110. He is a horse that goes well fresh and should go close if taking to the larger obstacles. Kildee Lass looks the pick of the remainder, but Appach has the proven fencing ability and gets the decision.
