In depth
Verdict
Charlotte Street gets the vote here ahead of fellow newcomers Elsie's Pride and Platin Grounds. Point-to-pointer Presental is returning from a long absence and so can be passed over, whilst Lord Ashfordly holds the best bumper form but this winning pointer may be best seen when going over obstacles. Venetia Williams has an interesting newcomer in Elsie's Pride, however her horses have tended to need the run and so whilst the grey can not be discounted, we return to Charlotte Street as our idea of the winner. Carl Llewellyn has his stable in fine form, and if this horse is supported in the market then that could prove to be very significant indeed. Platin Grounds could prove to be the main danger to the selection for the Twiston-Davies and David England partnership that has done so well this season. He has a superb record with his bumper runners at the course, as does Venetia Williams, however Charlotte Street remains the tentative choice for an in-form trainer.
