Verdict

Not much form to go on and, as ever in this type of event, the market will provide further clues but Accipter sets a fair standard and gets the vote. Toby Balding's charge made a pleasing debut when finishing strongly to be beaten a length at Wincanton earlier in the month and, granted normal improvement, should prove hard to beat under his useful conditional rider. Krzyszkowiak is progressing along the right lines but may need a little further in time judged on recent evidence while Heron's Ghyll didn't show the anticipated improvement last time and returns from a near two-month absence. Saidai and Percy Basil represent powerful stables and make plenty of appeal on breeding so it would come as no surprise if either proved good enough to make a winning bow.
